Privacy Policy — MGHHDA App

This policy explains how the MGHHDA mobile app (“the app”) handles information. It is published by MARIO GOMES HIP HOP DANCE ACADEMY (PTY) LTD (“MGHHDA”, “we”, “us”), the operator of Mario Gomes Hip Hop Dance Academy.

The short version
The app is a read-only noticeboard. It shows you news, class schedules, and events published by the academy.
- There is no account and no login. We never ask for your name, email, phone number, or any other personal detail.
- We do not use analytics, advertising, tracking, or crash-reporting services.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your information with anyone for marketing.
- Nothing you do in the app is tied to your identity, because the app has no way of knowing who you are.
The rest of this policy explains the limited technical information that is unavoidably processed when any app connects to the internet.
1. Information you give us
None. The app contains no sign-up, no login, no forms, no comments, no messaging, and no file uploads. There is no way to submit personal information through the app.
2. Information processed automatically
2.1 When the app contacts our server
To display news, schedules, and events, the app requests that content
from our server at mghhda.replit.app.
Our application deliberately keeps very little about these requests. For each one it records only:
- an internal request reference
- the request method and the address of the content requested, with any search terms removed
- whether the request succeeded or failed
Our application does not record your IP address, and does not record the device or software information your device sends. We use these records only to keep the service running and diagnose faults.
Separately from our application, the infrastructure our server runs on — provided by Replit, Inc. — handles the network connection itself, and providers of this kind typically record connection details including IP addresses for security and abuse prevention. That processing is governed by Replit’s privacy policy.
Cookies. Our application issues a sign-in cookie only when a staff member logs in to the administration system. Using the app never signs you in, so our application sets no cookie for you.
The hosting platform does attach one technical cookie of its own to responses, which it uses to direct your request to the right server. It is not set by us, is not used to identify or track you, and the app neither stores it nor sends it back. If you open an attachment or an exported PDF, that happens in your own browser, which may keep the platform’s cookie according to your browser settings.
2.2 Opening attachments and PDF downloads
News posts may include attachments, and the schedule screen can export a PDF. Both of these open in your device’s own web browser rather than inside the app. Once that happens, the request is handled by your browser and our server as described in section 2.1, and your browser’s own privacy settings apply.
3. Information stored on your device
So that the app still shows content when you are offline or on a poor connection, it saves a copy of the news, schedule, and event content it has already downloaded, along with the time it was fetched.
This cache stays on your device only. It is never transmitted anywhere, and it is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its storage. It contains only content the academy has published publicly — it holds nothing personal about you.
4. Permissions
The app requests a single permission: internet access, which it needs to fetch content. It does not request access to your location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos, files, or any other sensitive capability.
5. Children’s privacy
The academy teaches students of all ages, and we expect some app users to be children.
The app is designed so that this raises no additional risk: it collects no personal information from anyone, of any age. We do not knowingly process the personal information of a child, and because the app has no account system, forms, or uploads, there is no mechanism by which a child could provide personal information to us through it.
If you believe a child’s personal information has somehow reached us, contact info@mghhda.com and we will delete it.
6. Sharing your information
We do not sell or rent information about you, and we do not share it for advertising.
The only party that processes anything on our behalf is the one named above:

Attachments and exported PDFs are delivered to you through our own server, so your device never connects directly to the storage provider.
The app contains no advertising, analytics, or tracking software of any kind, so no information about you is sent to any other company. Everything the app displays comes from our own server, and the app’s typeface is bundled inside the app rather than fetched from anyone else.
We may disclose information if we are legally required to do so, or where necessary to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim.
7. Retention
Our application does not keep a database of visits — the limited records described in section 2.1 are written to our hosting platform’s log stream, and how long they are held there is determined by Replit’s retention practices rather than by us.
The content cached on your device persists until you clear the app’s storage or uninstall it.
8. Your rights
The app is operated from South Africa and we handle personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
POPIA gives you the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have inaccurate information corrected, to have information deleted where we have no lawful basis to keep it, and to object to processing. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
In practice we hold almost nothing that could identify you, so most requests will be answered by confirming that. To exercise any of these rights, contact info@mghhda.com.
9. Security
Traffic between the app and our server is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but because the app holds no accounts and no personal records, there is very little about you that could be exposed.
10. Links to other services
The app may link to content hosted elsewhere, including attachments opened in your browser and any external links inside a news post. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those services, and we encourage you to read their policies.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the “last updated” date above and publish the revised version at this address. Material changes will also be announced in the app’s news feed.
